The Second United Nations Verification Mission in Colombia started operations on 26 September. PBI talked about it to the Chief of Staff of the UN Mission, Raul Rosende. Raul Rosende is Uruguayan and has led humanitarian and peacekeeping missions in Yemen, Syria and Jerusalem. During the first Mission he was in charge of verifying the ceasefire, cessation of hostilities and disarmament, agreed as part of the Final Agreement between the Colombian Government and the FARC. The United Nations Second Verification Mission in Colombia starts operating today, 26 September.[1] Several reports in July and August warned of how shifts in regional power structures, armed groups and economies have resulted in threats, murders and forced displacement in different parts of the country; these incidents have exposed the risks that overshadow the Peace Agreement between the Colombian Government and the FARC.
