Due to the current situation of high risk the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó is facing, 71 international human rights organizations, platforms, networks and cooperation agencies from Europe and the United States signed a letter addressed to the Inter-American Commission and Court of Human Rights (IACHR), expressing its concern regarding the writ of amparo filed by the XVII Brigade of the Colombian Army against the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó.

In the framework of the provisional measures granted to the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó by the Inter-American Court on Human Rights, this letter was sent to express the concerns of the international community regarding the few advances in the prevention and protection of the members of the Peace Community of San José de Apartadó. The letter also includes specific requests for investigation, with the purpose of preventing new human rights violations from being committed that would cause irreparable damage to the Community.
