Once again the Nonam People find themselves caught in the middle of armed conflict

In February 2013 the Inter-Church Justice and Peace Commission visited the Nonam indigenous community in the Santa Rosa de Guayacán Humanitarian Reserve (Valle del Cauca), in order to talk about their precarious situation and the escalation of the armed conflict in the region. PBI accompanied Maria Eugenia Mosquera and Laura Chaparro on this journey.

After a 10 hour bus ride throughout the night from Bogotá to Cali, I was expecting to relax for a while before doing some work. Maybe even have a short nap. However, just as I was taking my bags off the bus, I received a call from the PBI house in Cali. It was Jérôme and he asked me to go straight to the house to help him out. It was an emergency.
